Receiving Credit for 100-Level Undergraduate Classes

You are permitted to take a maximum of 15 units of 100-level courses for graduate credit. You must maintain and receive a B grade or better in the course. B- grades are not acceptable.

To receive graduate credit for an undergraduate class, you must:

  • Fill out a contract form with the course instructor (available in the NuFS Department Office, CCB 200) during the first 3 weeks of the semester.
  • Submit a proposed outline of the project to the instructor who, with the Graduate Coordinator, Dr. Panfilo Belo, will evaluate and approve it.
  • Do more detailed and extensive work on an approved class project than that required of other students, as well as present an oral report, as appropriate.
  • Use APA format for written work or another appropriate writing format specified by your instructor.

A written evaluation of the extra project for credit regarding your graduate program is placed in your file by your instructor for future reference.

Whether to apply for graduate credit for 100-level courses is your decision, after consulting with your graduate advisor or the Graduate Coordinator, Dr. Belo. Your graduate committee and graduate faculty will have final approval of NuFS upper division courses on the approved graduate program submitted to the Office of Graduate Studies.

Only selected 100-level NuFS courses are acceptable on the graduate program:
