Submission of Thesis or
Project
- Register for a minimum of 1 unit of NuFS 299
(Plan A thesis) or NuFS 298 (Plan B Project) each semester in
which you are writing your thesis or project or until official
approval is given by your committee and the thesis or project is
signed. Students must be continuously enrolled while working on a
project or thesis, even if number of units surpasses minimum required
to graduate. You and/or your faculty advisor can request meetings with
your committee whenever there is a need prior to your final oral
comprehensive exam.
- Submit a copy of the approved and signed
signature page to the Graduate
Coordinator, Dr. Panfilo Belo.
- For Plan A Thesis: Present at least two
officially bound copies of your Thesis (Plan A) (bound as per the
requirements established by the Office of Graduate studies) to the
Department of Nutrition and Food Science and to your graduate
advisor. Submit a bound copy (copies) to the agency with whom you
collaborated, as appropriate. (These bound copies are in addition to
the three copies submitted to the Office of Graduate Studies).
Inquire of all committee members whether they wish to have a copy,
as well.
- For Plan B Project: Bind and submit two copies
(label with the title semester, year and your name) of your project
(plan B) to the Department of Nutrition and Food Science and to your
graduate advisor. Submit a bound copy (copies) to the agency with
whom you collaborated, as appropriate. To bind your Plan B Project,
use velo bind on vinyl in navy blue color, available at:
Kinko's (93 East San Carlos Street)
Copyman (15 North 2nd Street)
AlphaGraphics (in Sunnyvale: 1294 Anvilwood Ct.; and in Mountain View: 444 Castro Street Suite 110)
Bound copies must have a label on the cover stating title, student
author, semester, and year.
When all of the requirements for graduation
have
been met and your project or thesis has been accepted by the NuFS
Department, your graduate advisor must submit a Verification
of Culminating Experience form to the Graduate Coordinator, Dr. Belo, who submits the form to
Graduate
Studies and Research to verify completion of all program requirements.
