Abstract / Poster Professional Presentation

You are required to prepare an abstract and poster presentation materials according to guidelines outlined by a professional organization appropriate to your graduate program objective (consult with your advisor). This completed package should be submitted to the Graduate Coordinator, Dr. Panfilo Belo to accompany the submission of your Plan A Thesis or Plan B Project.

Department Guidelines on Abstract/Poster Preparation

  1. The title of abstract/poster should include the student's name as first author and the graduate advisor as second author followed by other committee members. 
  2. The title of abstract /poster should include the Department of Nutrition and Food Science, San José State University as supporting institution.
  3. The poster materials should be submitted in a large (24-inch) portfolio with plastic handles (available at Spartan Bookstore or other art supplies store), labeled on the flap with student's name, title of poster, and semester/year of graduation.
  4. Posters should be able to be presented on an easel or self-standing on a table (3-section fold). 
    NOTE: Presentation of poster should include visuals and appropriate spacing and layout to facilitate comprehension and appeal to observers (drawing, photo, tables, figures)
  5. Obtain approval from advisor for initial plan for poster before completion. 
  6. Final grade for Project (NuFS 298)  or Thesis (NuFS 299) will be held back until the poster is submitted and approved by advisor.
