Change of Graduate Status: Conditionally Classified to Classified

Before you can advance to candidacy for the graduate degree and file for graduation, you must change status from Conditionally Classified to Classified. To change graduate status, you must:

  1. Consult with the Graduate Coordinator, Dr. Panfilo Belo,
  2. Pass one Graduate Competency exam
  3. Complete the writing requirement (NuFS 216 or NuFS 217)
  4. Maintain a 3.0 GPA or better
  5. Complete appropriate prerequisite courses for your graduate program objective

If appropriate, you must also ask a member of the graduate faculty (full-time only) in writing to serve as your graduate advisor.

If you have met all of the requirements to change graduate status, the Graduate Coordinator, Dr. Belo, will fill out a Change of Classification Form. You must make two copies of this form, return one to Dr. Belo for your file and deliver one to Graduate Studies and Research in the Student Services Center.
