Linda Sweeney joined CalProNET as an
assistant coordinator in the summer of 2007 and started as the full
time coordinator in January 2008. Her BS degree was earned at
California State University Los Angles through the Coordinated
Undergraduate Dietetic Program. A Registered Dietitian with a clinical
dietetic background, she has also worked with the Women, Infant, and
Children (WIC) program and as a Consulting Dietitian in Long Term Care.
Linda recently completed her Master’s degree at San Jose State University while working at Santa Clara County Public Heath Department as a Public Health Nutritionist. There she worked on a grant through the Network for a Healthy California to promote fruit and vegetable consumption and to increase physical activity for better health.
CalProNET has been an opportunity for her to experience the exciting field of School Nutrition. She has enjoyed meeting and working with professionals in this area and has developed a deep appreciation for the job they do. She is an active member in the San Jose Peninsula District Dietetic Association and the California School Nutrition Association.

Ms. Barber is a graduate of University of California at Davis and served her dietetic internship at King County Hospital in Seattle. Phyllis is a Registered Dietitian with over 35 years of management experience in the food industry. Her experience included university feeding at Stanford University, health care food service at Mercy San Juan Hospital in Sacramento, Woodland Memorial Hospital in Woodland and child nutrition programs at Elk Grove Unified School District.
Phyllis' last position prior to becoming a consultant was at Elk Grove Unified School District in Sacramento. She served first as an Operation Manager for Elementary Schools and then as the Operation Manager of the Food Processing Center (a central production site) which produced over 30,000 meal components per day. Phyllis is also a ServSafe trainer and has taught many successful classes for school districts, organizations and restaurants. Phyllis was an instructor for the Child Nutrition Program Administration Course in 2005 and 2006. Phyllis also worked with the California Department of Education, Nutrition Services Division, and Cal-Pro-NET at San Jose State University on the development of the 2006 and 2007 Annual Mandatory Training distance learning materials.
Phyllis has also served in many capacities within various professional associations related to food service and dietetics. She served as president of the Gold Empire Chapter of the Dietetic Association and Mother Lode Supervisory Chapter of the California School Nutrition Association. Phyllis has worked on many committees and, for 5 ½ years, was a member of the Child Nutrition Advisory Committee for the State of California.
Phyllis is active in her community as a volunteer in many capacities. For the last 6 years she has served as an assistant in managing over 200 boys for a large Christian-based boy’s organization similar to Boy Scouts.

Becky is a graduate of the University of
Idaho and began her career in 1965 as a teacher of Home Economics where
new courses in the curriculum were implemented. She has been an
instructor of nutrition, management, and technology classes at several
local colleges. She has worked on curriculum development in sanitation,
personnel, management and budgeting for over 35 years.
She directed one large school district food service operation and
another joint powers agreement with three school districts. She has
been President of the California School Nutrition Association and
served on many committees for the School Nutrition Association. She has
been an instructor for Cal-Pro-NET at San Jose State University in
management, finance, and organization. Most recently, Becky worked with
the California Department of Education, Nutrition Services Division,
and Cal-Pro-NET at San Jose State University on the development of the
2006 and 2007 Annual Mandatory Training distance learning materials.
For eight years, Becky directed all functions and phases of nutrition
services for the Stanislaus County Sheriffs Department, where she
contracted food services with the Juvenile Hall and a neighboring
county sheriff's department. She was President of the California
chapter of the International Correctional Food Service Association. She
has written many articles and done several presentations at state and
national conferences.
Becky has worked with the California Board of Corrections in developing
their nutrition standards and is a certified Correctional Food Service
Professional with the American Correctional Association. She is active
in her community by volunteering in many varying capacities. She is
married and has three grown boys. In 2004, Becky received the
Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Idaho, College of
Letters and Science, for her outstanding and recognized work in the
fields of nutrition, education, and leadership.
