B.S. Nutritional Science: Food Science & Technology
The
Department of Nutrition and Food Science has had a concentration in Food
Science and Technology since 1985. The curriculum includes support
courses from mathematical, computer, and physical sciences; life
sciences; and communication areas. Students have the option to select
elective courses outside the major and/or to complete courses in
business/marketing, chemistry, journalism, industrial technology, or
other areas.
The Food Science and Technology Concentration prepares graduates for
careers as food scientists, food technologists, and consumer
specialists. In addition, with the appropriate coursework, students are
also prepared for advanced degrees. (A Master of Science in
Nutritional Science with a career goal in Food Science is offered
by the department.)
