Required Tests for Dietetic Undergraduates
Pursuing the Internal Dietetic Internship at SJSU

Dietetic majors pursuing an internal Dietetic Internship at SJSU need to take three sets of Basic Content Exams before applying for the internal Dietetic Internship. It is recommended to take the exams after completing the related coursework. The exams test your knowledge of the material learned in the following classes:

Exams Related Classes
Nutrition NuFS 008 and NuFS 106A
Food Science NuFS 101A and NuFS 103
Foodservice Management NuFS 111, NuFS 111L, and ( NuFS 112 or NuFS 113)

The exams are offered four times a year, usually the last weekday before the semester begins and the first two weeks into the semester. Announcements of when and where the exams are offered are located on various nutrition designated bulletin boards in the Central Classroom Building, and outside Dr. Kathryn Sucher's office.

More than one exam may be taken at one time, but it is recommended to take no more than two exams at a time. A passing grade of 80% or higher is required for each exam.

You may sign up for each exam only twice. Failure to notify a cancellation will count as one time! You must notify Dr. Sucher before the deadline (approximately five days in advance) to withdraw.

The exams are multiple choice in content, free, and given at San Jose State University, in the Central Classroom Building (usually room 102). Students can sign up for the exam with the department secretary in CCB room 200. Sign up for the exams needs to occur by the deadline (a week before the test). Remember to indicate which exams you will be taking.
