Graduation Checklist

The graduation process is relatively simple. However, you must plan ahead. You must file for graduation the semester before you anticipate completing your program. At least 90 semester units must be completed before filing. The school urges that you file early, and has imposed the following deadlines:

Month of Graduation Deadline to Apply
August or December March 1
May October 1

To apply

1. Obtain and fill out a major sheet (available in the NuFS department office, CCB 200)
2. Have the major sheet signed by your advisor and the Department Chairperson
    (Dr. Lucy McProud).
3. Fill out a minor sheet if you are declaring a minor, and have it signed by the appropriate
    person.
4. Pick up the graduation application form from Admissions and Records.
5. Fill out the graduation application.
6. Take the completed graduation application to the Cashier's Office and pay the graduation fee
    (currently $25).
7. Take the stamped graduation application along with the signed major and minor sheets to the
    receptionist at Admissions and Records.

If you change your graduation date or if you make any changes, such as dropping your minor, then you must fill out a Change of Graduation form and pay a fee (currently $10).

Included in your Graduation fees are your diploma and ceremony at Spartan Stadium. Graduates from the NuFS Department sit with the college of Applied Sciences and Arts.
